Where is michael mamaril in borderlands

In tribute to a Borderlands fan by the real name of Michael Mamaril who died from cancer at a young age, Gearbox immortalized him as an NPC vault hunter who offers you guns to help you out source.

The "Tribute to a Vault Hunter" achievement triggers upon finding him. I haven't been able to find him in Sanctuary in single or multiplayer. Town Center Opposite Paradise Station, next to the newspaper stand. ClapTrap's Hideout Top of the staircase, on the left.

I was playing coop with a friend earlier, and she got the achievement. I'm playing around 10 hours later, and I can't find him in any of the three locations.

Maybe it's a once a day kind of thing? Posted by Shepard VI on 18 Sep 12 at I found him infront of the hotel thats directly next to Moxxis Posted by mast3r 0r0m1s on 18 Sep 12 at I found him in Dr Zed's place. Posted by HelmBreaker on 18 Sep 12 at Just a heads up, he may offer a shield too.

Posted by DrTaco86 on 19 Sep 12 at One tip Great distraction while waiting for your party to assemble! Posted by ScuzzyBunny on 20 Sep 12 at Found last night in center circular area across from Paradise Station.

He was next to the newspaper stand place. Posted by Ubuntu Solo on 20 Sep 12 at Ive been looking for about an hour, and he isnt showing up anymore. I was able to get items from him earlier, but not i cant find him in any of the locations. Anyone know why? Posted by PropaneSalesPro on 22 Sep 12 at Just a heads up for those of you that don't know.

Michael Mamaril was a Borderlands 1 fan, he and his friend would play it while Mamaril was terminally ill. When he sadly passed away, his friend wrote to gear box to ask that they make a eulogie for Mamaril using claptrap. Not only did they do this, they put him in the game. Kudos to Gearbox for this kind of fan service. Posted by Lainey80 on 22 Sep 12 at I haven't found him at all, not once :[ Posted by ricky horror on 22 Sep 12 at Can't find him anywhere in there anymore, although it might well be that he just doesn't visit that often.

Posted by Masa o piirakka on 23 Sep 12 at He still appears, just less frequently. Gearbox clearly went above and beyond in Borderlands 2 with the recognition of a dedicated fan that passed away from a terminal illness. That's simply a brilliant and unmatched level of understanding that will not be parelleled by corporate entities like EA or Steam. Posted by Eddiestylz on 23 Sep 12 at I really think that he dosent show after place is in sky. I definitely have. It's possible he only appears 1 time per story mission, because that's when I usually see him.

I've completed many side missions, but never see him when I return to Sanctuary. I thought he was in Sanctuary.

Posted by cactido on 26 Sep 12 at What a heart-warming achievement. Hopefully we have more of these where they tribute their biggest fans. I've seen him twice since Sanctuary took off.

Posted by FlavorMcNubs on 30 Sep 12 at Just curious, but if you're playing solo, does he not appear if your inventory is full? I can't find him, checked all locations and sanctuary is in the sky.

Posted by MXR on 02 Oct 12 at Thanks for posting the video. It was nice to be reminded of something a little bit special that Gearbox did in recognition of a fan that passed away. Posted by Alfie No4kes on 04 Oct 12 at For those having trouble finding him, he doesn't show up every time you go to Sanctuary, and his appear rate drops to only 1 in 10 times you enter Sanctuary after it goes airborne.

Posted by Kojiiriin on 06 Oct 12 at Or does he remain in one spot? If he does move, do you know the route he takes?

That way we could travel in the opposite direction to make sure we catch him when he's moving. I have the cheeve, but want to try to look for him every time I'm back in Sanctuary. Posted by PBreezey on 16 Oct 12 at The spawn is completely random. He may or may not be at the same location when you revisit Sanctuary or reload the game. I have tried a few times now spending quite a bit of time searching around sanctuary, and I have had no luck finding him.

Guess I'll just keep at it. Posted by Paully05 on 19 Oct 12 at Gearbox has stated that the latest compatibility pack "fixes" his spawn rate, but it's unclear as to what that actually means. More or less frequent, hasn't been determined yet. I'd like to comment on the "fixed" spawn rate. I could not find Michael anywhere. I tried again and again in Sanctuary before it lifted and afterwards on different playthroughs.

I cleared my system cache and played without updating the game and found him on my first try in Sactuary pre-liftoff. Posted by I Argonaut I on 21 Oct 12 at Desktopversion anzeigen. Steam installieren. Borderlands 2 Shopseite. Globale Errungenschaften. So I've got a level 13 character, fairly early in the game, and I'm finding that Michael Mamaril never seems to appear anywhere in Sanctuary. Does anyone else suffer from this? Is there anything I can do to encourage him to appear? He can appear in many different places and it is pretty rare for him to spawn.

Maybe you aren't searching all the possible places he could be in? I've checked on google and found the map of all of his locations. You'll find him eventually, its so random that I wouldn't worry about it and suddenly he will be standing there in Moxxi's bar. He gives you one rare weapon, usually a purple or blue.
